Best Kept Secret in Dallas....
Until Now

Mark Kiselis
Mark Kiselis, Insurance Broker and Real Estate Investor for the past 30 years, lives in the M Streets. During these past 30 years Mr. Kiselis and his wife, Jennifer, have raised 5 children with the usual girl scouts, soccer, basketball, & school activities. When the last child went off to college, he finally got to experience his dream, Contemporary Art.

Kiselis Contemporary Art is located in his insurance office on Mockingbird. His walls are filled with an exciting and colorful maze of abstracts, contemporary, landscapes, graphic designs and what he calls "foqueism" (fo-kway-ism). It's simple yet provocative. Within the colors, lines, texture and shapes of his work, he manages to subtly immerse images throughout the piece, hence, the term foqueism or a take off on the latin "focus". He invites the viewer to "focus" on the hidden images.

In the past 3 years he has produced over 350 artworks which now reside in corporate offices and clients' homes in Dallas. Several are in Houston, San Antonio, Chicago, Austin, Lubbock, Fort Worth and New York. Two works are displayed on a ranch in Central Mexico. His art has been displayed this summer at The Dallas Center for Contemporary Art.

Kiselis Art has found its way into many non-profit organizations in Dallas, Make a Wish Foundation, Shared Housing, Ursuline Academy, Lakewood Methodist Church and St. Matthew's Church in San Antonio. Being of Irish, Dutch and Lithuanian decent he says "The Dutch gives me the color scheme, the Lithuanian is the hard work ethic and the Irish gives me the imagination". Being proud of his Lithuanian grandparents, he donated a painting to the Balzekas Museum of Lithuanian Culture in Chicago last year.

He has been in communication with The McNay Art Museum in San Antonio and Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris. Mark and Jennifer toured the Art Museums of Paris last March with his sister and brother in law. Jeanne McCurry who is an Art Partner at the Art Institute of Chicago and Ken McCurry who is a Docent at the Field Museum. While visiting several Parisian Museums: The Louvre, d'Orsay, Picasso, Rodin, Centre Georges Pompidou and Versailles, Mark mentioned that Paris was overwhelming - "if you can't find inspiration in Paris, you must be made of stone".

Mr. Kiselis keeps reminding me of the term "evolving" . You must continue to evolve in your work whether it's art, music, sculpture, medicine, law, politics, etc. " It's always been a dynamic industry, there is no room for a static mind." With a chuckle, he also said that he has sold more paintings than Van Gogh, his mentor.

"I feel that Art is my legacy and I will continue to evolve by challenging my senses and imagination"

Mr. Kiselis has his art studio and office located at:
6162 E. Mockingbird Ln., Suite 118 Dallas, TX 75214
